Song-Bird

I am a stay at home mother of three on my way to becoming an empty nester.  I have a degree in Accounting and previously worked in Cost Accounting.  However, the years I have been able to stay at home have been such a blessing.  I truly love all aspects of homemaking and family life. 

I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes.  Most of them have been very good and some others definitely needed to be tweaked for a second go around. To go along with cooking, I also thoroughly enjoy throwing parties.  Coming up with new reasons to have a party is my expertise.  I guess I'm just a kid at heart!

When I'm not in the kitchen, I am sprucing the place up.  I love to decorate.  Most of all I like to decorate on a budget.  If I can find a great deal or not spend any money at all, I am in my glory.

I like to keep my home functioning smoothly with well thought out designs and with rooms that are organized in such a way to leave me feeling relaxed and stress free.  Life is chaotic enough without having a home that is in disorder.

To alleviate stress further, I exercise four to five days a week.  A fitness program is absolutely crucial, in my opinion, for good health.  Plus to keep up with the kids energy level, it is a must.  Although, my teen's energy level seems to have dropped way below mine now!

When I'm not decorating or working out, I am in my craft room.  I love to think of new crafts that are rustic.  Since we have a cabin in Northern Michigan, I like to decorate in a rustic design.

With one daughter living in New York, I have really grown to appreciate fashion and accessories.  Since she started out as a model I also have a little advice for anyone thinking about getting into the business.

Of course I leave myself plenty of time during the day to write.  I enjoy writing on hubpages and love the community here.  I also hope to publish a children's book someday, although that has taken a backburner to writing here and on my blogs.
